My word for 2009 will be....................FAMILY

With inspiration from a couple of great friends of mine and looking at Ali Edwards blog, a single word can be a powerful thing I am choosing a word for 2009 as well. My choice is FAMILY. This year will be (hopefully) a successful and enjoyable one for our Family. I chose family for a variety of reasons.

1. We will be a family of five this year after the soon to be arrival of baby number 3 (and final). I hope we can be a loving, happy family for him and nurture him this year through all his firsts. I pray that Kadence and Dominic embrace him with loving arms.
2. Our family is in need of financial turn around. I pray that we can stick together through this tough time to journey on the road to a better financial future as God willing what ever it may be. Our family unit is sooo strong, we have been through so much in the last 24 months and our family is only stronger because of it.

3. To take more breaks as a family (our America trip was awesome for our family time but who can afford that every year) and enjoy camping and 4wding more often this year. I always come home feeling so very blessed for the family God has given me and Col and I have created when we have this precious time together.
4. To find a better solution for Col's work that gives us back our family time. We live for Sundays as this is FAMILY day for us but I would love more of it.
5. We are still creating our Home for our growing FAMILY and I am praying and hoping that 2009 brings a fulfilled home, with our memories marking the walls through photos and scrapbooking and a easy to look after house unit so I can spend quality time with Kadence before she goes to school next year.
6. To spend more quality time with my kids and follow my weekly timetable much more successfully then last year.

But foremost, and most importantly for Colin and I to remember that no matter what happens our FAMILY is the most important thing in our lives and it comes first, looked after by our Father in heaven who always shows us the way.

I am going to start with working on getting our pictures up on the walls and find a FAMILY word to scrapbook for the wall near our kitchen. I want to ordain this wall with photos of our beautiful children (2 and 4 legged), family and friends we love and cherish and our much longed for American trip last year.

Happy new year!!! may it be better then last year.

WEll our Christmas was both busy and wonderful. The kids had an absolute ball and Nic was really into it this year. The k9 kids scored new toys too and sported new haircuts (yes we shaved Blaze but he looks sooo cute). The kids got a trampoline from their Nana and absolutely love it. Nana came over for New Years with Col and we played board games and listened to the neighbours music until after midnight. Kade made it to midnight but very quickly faded, Dominic was in bed at 9pm. We had a bbq dinner then were too full for all the nibbles we had prepared to see us through to the new year. Oh well!!! We spent New Years day 4wding with our wonderful friends Chrissy and Julian and their three munchkins James, Claire and Luke. We went up through the Conondales and the kids and hubbies had a swim in the creek at Boloumba. It was a great day! and we got home just in time to beat the rain. Well my cheeky monkey Dominic continues his mischief ways. This morning he was outside playing with the Kitchen they got from Daddy and Me for Christmas, and was bringing Mummy drinks of "coffee" and "toast" and "fruit" on plates. Then he comes in after 10 mins with red on his shirt. I asked him what it was and to my shock he has pulled the red paint container down and PAINTED the kitchen RED!!!! Aaahhhh!! I quickly had to stop my morning routine of cleaning the kitchen and one room (flylady is great!), to go and clean up paint. Luckily, being married to a diesel mechanic we have all sorts of things to get paint off and it is now back to new. Little ratbag!! boys! and i'm having another one of them. WE have finally come up with a name but my lips are sealed until he is born. I spent the beginning of this week putting up wall paper borders in the kids rooms and making curtains. Dominic now has a very boy looking jungle room with jungle border and curtains. Kadence of course has a Disney princess room with princess border, wall stickers and butterfly curtains. Now to tackle the nursery when the kids start back at Kidz Cubby on Thursday. We still are loving having a pool!! we put the kids slide on the deck and they slide into the pool, soo much fun!! Col is looking at taking on a second job to cover my wage now I have stopped working and we are praying that God may guide us to what he should do - swap jobs to one that pays better, or take on a second job which means even less family time then what we have now which is a few hours each night and Sundays only!! I pray that God will show us direction soon cause we are feeling really lost at the moment.
